Wildberries Warehouses Targeted in Russia and Crimea, Disrupting Logistics and Consumer Access

Wildberries, Russia’s leading online marketplace, has suffered a series of attacks on its warehouse facilities in several regions, including the Leningrad region near St. Petersburg, Tver, and annexed Crimea. These incidents, reportedly carried out by Ukrainian forces, have set fire to large storage complexes and caused disruptions in logistics operations.
Impact on Supply Chains and Consumer Spending
According to multiple reports from social media and open-source intelligence, the warehouse near the village of Novosaratovka in the Vsevolozhsky district of the Leningrad region—a major hub serving St. Petersburg—was targeted and ignited. Visual evidence shows black smoke rising over the city, and eyewitness videos capture the moments of the strikes.
Wildberries’ logistics centers in the Shushary and Utkina Zavod districts of St. Petersburg have temporarily suspended operations. The company has announced that it will communicate updates regarding the resumption of services.
Similar attacks also occurred at the logistics hubs in Tver and Simferopol. In Simferopol, the company’s sorting center was evacuated following safety protocols. Additionally, an unconfirmed strike on an electrical substation in Sudak, Crimea, reportedly caused power and water outages, further complicating local logistics and household utility access.
“The temporary halt of Wildberries’ logistics centers directly affects the availability of goods, potentially increasing prices and limiting choices for consumers,” said a logistics expert familiar with the situation.
These warehouse disruptions come on the heels of previous attacks in Elektrostal, Tambov region’s Kotovsk, Krasnodar, and Stavropol Krai’s Nevinnomyssk, which collectively damaged over half a million square meters of logistics space, representing roughly 10% of Wildberries’ total infrastructure. These strikes have not only interrupted supply chains but also resulted in casualties, highlighting the human cost behind the conflict.
For everyday consumers, these disruptions risk creating shortages of popular goods sold through Wildberries’ platform, leading to potential price hikes and delays in deliveries. Household budgets may be squeezed as residents face higher costs and fewer options, especially given the platform’s dominant share in Russia’s e-commerce market.
